St. Elizabeth Seton School has a remarkable success rate with its graduates for both high school and college completion that are in marked contrast to East Palo Alto’s neighborhood high school graduation statistics. It is our mission to provide the foundation for students to realize their educational potential.

Seton School teachers do “double duty”, meaning that, in addition to introducing new subject concepts and information, teachers must also teach the English vocabulary that accompanies every lesson. Because these are such fundamental skills, an inability to read and write confidently leads to a lack of self esteem that colors everything else these students attempt to do. Along with language arts, the academic day includes math, science, and social studies. St. Elizabeth Seton School works to provide a well rounded, comprehensive education that includes physical education and exposure to the fine arts. Religion is taught as a daily subject, and it permeates the school’s atmosphere. The students are encouraged to be kind to one another and to show their respect for all God’s creation.
